Mission & Vision

Yug Nirman — building a brighter era on the timeless ideal that the whole world is one family.

A living model of a better society

The Gayatri Pariwar sees itself as a working model of a future society guided by human unity and equality. Its mission — begun by Yug Rishi Pandit Shriram Sharma Acharya — is a mass movement for the transformation of the era (Yug Nirman): the rise of goodness in people, and, through it, a brighter age on earth.

Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam — the whole world is one family

At the centre of the vision is the ancient Vedic ideal of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam — “the entire world is one family” — together with Atmavat sarvabhooteshu, the sense that all living beings are our own kin. From this flows a commitment to equality and dignity for every person: a vision of one human family in which love is our shared language and humanity our shared faith.

Individual, family and social development

The mission works at three connected levels — individual development, family development and social upliftment. Refined individuals build warm, value-based families; strong families build a healthier society. The aim, in the movement’s own words, is the rise of divinity in humankind and the descent of “heaven on earth.”

A healthy body and a pure mind

Self-growth begins close to home: caring for a healthy body and a pure, clear mind. Through wholesome, disciplined living (“simple living, high thinking”), holistic health, and Gayatri sadhana paired with yagya, the mission encourages a balanced life in which physical health and inner purity support one another.

Equal opportunity for self-growth

A core principle is that everyone should have an equal opportunity to grow — irrespective of caste, colour or creed. The path of self-refinement is offered as open and accessible to all, so that no one is left behind in the journey towards a better life and a better world.

Transformation through enlightened individuals

The method is a thought revolution (Vichar Kranti): the patient refinement of how people think, feel and value life. The movement holds that thoughts carry immense power, and that lasting change comes not by force but through the effort and active participation of enlightened individuals. Change begins within — and society follows.

How we live it in Perth

Locally, we try to put these ideals into everyday practice through spiritual practice (sadhana), study (swadhyaya), self-discipline (sanyam) and service (seva) — see Get Involved and Our Story.
